100wc Week 8

The dukes silently marched through the trees, none saw them and only thought of them as statues when they did, their magical powers unknown to the world. They would destroy it. They turn everything in there path to stone. They have been doing it for years, Picasso was a duke, so was Leonardo Di Vinci and Michelangelo.  All of the statues in Rome are real people who thought they were being painted but really were being turned to stone.

Without these dukes, the world would be pointless, the mystery of the world would be unknown, like real People in our society, the dukes have been beckoned  by me……

100wc Week 9

The green fur shone in the daylight, like a beacon in the night sky. The cat jumped off its podium and bashed through the broken fence posts and dashed off to find his friend. The mad swimming dog was in the middle of his meditating       session where he lifted off the ground.

The cat arrived and couldn’t find his freaky companion. Of course, the dog was meditating right above the cats head and when theCatt called out, the dog fell and landed right on the cats head and………

“Are you all right, you’re story seems a bit far fetched to be true”

In the office, Churchill stood there and looked out the street, D-Day, and effort to take back France was a huge success and the second Great War was over. Although the war was won because Hitler’s men were scared to wake him and when they finally did, Hitler himself declared it a distraction ploy and he would not waist reinforcements, sent no reinforcements. So back in Churchill’s office, he stood there looking over the streets, many hats flying of in every direction, he and all of us in this big great world will remember all of those who died in the Second Great War.

Extreme Weather Project Reflection

Recount on Extreme Weather Project.

I was working with Ben P and our topic was Heatwaves. We started off by going to the internet to research and gather information relate related to the topic and our set questions. We got our information and took notes and put them in our words!

Once we had our information in our own words, I started writing everything on to the power-point. Ben and I worked well and always valued each other’s opinions although I was not really taking notes but typing my notes in my own words onto my computer.

Our format of course was a power-point and I typed that whole power-point up and I didn’t get much help from Ben.

Overall I had a good time working with Ben, but I would like to have an easier and more equal work load with my next partners for projects!

Lit Circles Reflection

Lit Circles Reflection

Book: Hover Car Racer

Author: Matthew Reilly

YOP: 2004

Group Members: Grace, Ella, Ben W, Tait, Oliver and Me (Angus)

What worked well?

I think that when in the process of reading and discussing the book, we worked well and had a good routine going on and everyone got through their job fairly easily!

Considerations for the future: People  not shouting across the room when doing the podcasting and also letting people do what they want to do (for their part) and not being left out at discussions that change everything last minute. Plus people not trying to rush through everything.

Podcasting:

Plus: It was super fun when recording all of it and when we presented everyone listened!

Minus: When writing the script people were fiddling, shouting, fooling around and not participating and others being left out so it took longer and longer using up everyone’s time to rest and play and also people shouting and giving others headaches.

Interesting: Our voices sounded different on the presentation. We were going to do a race but due to people not being at meetings we had to go back to an interview so most of our time was waisted! I didn’t think it was going to be that hard but it was harder than I expected

Overall, I enjoyed the book and working with my group. Angus Out!

100wc Week #3

We arrive at the bridge to cross, we park our car and slowly trudge towards the bridge. We arrive smack bang in the middle to find that there’s no more bridge to cross, it stops right in the middle of the river. Very unique bridge in my mind although we now don’t know how we are going to cross the river to our picnic spot!

We formed a giant human bridge to get people across, after many years the bridge is completed! We then deform the the human bridge and sit down with our roast beef sandwiches! Yummy! The End

100wc Week 2

I walked through the immense pile of scrap metal looking for a special piece of metal to complete our statue! The piece had to be small, round, and green. Of course in a scrap metal depot, we would be able to complete our model but it’s harder than I first thought. First of all, I’ve been cut a few, well maybe a few more than a few times, there is a at least a million scraps of metal to pass through and now I am bleeding so much it stings my eyes, but at last, over there, but its yellow! UH MAH!

100wc Week#1

I hopped straight into the car through my bags in the back an dreamed of a holiday paradise but that was short lived after the battery was dead! We hot-wired the car up to our olds-mobile and jump-started the car, sort of like waking up Frankenstein but sounded a lot nicer. Our car was 1970 Mini Cooper S! Finally, we can make a start I told my dad as he hopped in!

We hurried onto the freeway to begin making our journey, when suddenly the car made funny noises and began to slow down, we had barely even made it out of melbourne! OH COME ON!

Maths Mate Term 3 Sheet 1 Question 22

Maths Mate, Term 3, Sheet 1, Question 22

Predict: I predict that this question would require me to guess, check and improve to find the answer

Read: The sum of two consecutive numbers is 97. What are the two numbers?

Clarify: I had to clarify what consecutive means. It means straight after, for example, 1 and then 2

Big Question: The BIG question is how do I solve this? Mentally or writing on some paper?

Mathematicians Toolbox: I used guess, check and improve and make a table/graph

Solve: First I started by a quick estimate of 46 and 47. That added up to be 93 so I knew I was close! So then I put that on my table, then I tried 48 and 49. That added up to 97 so it was the right answer. The answer was 48 and 49

Summary: Overall, I used guess, check and improve and also make a table/graph to conclude the answer of 48 and 49!
